CFP2-DCO 100/200/300/400G Flex Coherent Transceiver

The Lumentum 400G CFP2-DCO is a flex coherent 100/200/300/400G digital optical module compliant with the CFP2 MSA, OpenROADM, OpenZR+, OIF 400G ZR, and CableLabs® standards. In addition, the module supports proprietary modes for all bit rates for use in applications where standards compliance is not required and best performance is needed. It is designed for line-side trunk DWDM data center interconnect, metro carrier and regional/long haul applications.

The flex-grid 400G CFP2-DCO incorporates Lumentum co-packaged InP PICs including narrow-linewidth tunable laser, InP dual-cartesian Mach-Zehnder modulator and µICR with integrated VOA, together with a low-power digital signal processing (DSP) ASIC. It provides the broadest support of both standards-compliant and proprietary modes combining PM-QPSK/8QAM/16QAM modulation formats with baud rates ranging from 28 to 66 Gbaud/s to enable the best tradeoff of reach and power dissipation for all applications.

An IEEE802.3 Clause-45-compliant MDIO management interface is used for control, alarms, monitoring, and diagnostics. Additional features including L1 Encryption, LLDP, and OHIO are all supported.

The module mechanical outline is the standard CFP2 MSA size (106 mm x 41.5 mm x 12.4 mm). Electrical interfaces are provided through the 104-pin connector and optical interfaces through two LC optical receptacle connectors.
