High-performance externally modulated lasers providing low-chirp, high signal fidelity optical transmission
Lumentum’s electro-absorption modulated lasers (EMLs) provide the high bandwidth, signal integrity, and efficiency essential for short- and medium-reach optical connectivity inside AI and cloud data centers. Each EML integrates a wavelength-locked DFB laser with a monolithic electro-absorption modulator, producing low-chirp, high-fidelity optical signals. Proven in high-volume manufacturing and deployed across hyperscale networks, Lumentum’s 100G and 200G EMLs power today’s 400G and 800G DR4 and FR4 modules while providing an upgrade path toward 1.6T performance.
