Lumentum’s continuous-wave (CW) lasers provide the stable, low-noise light sources required for silicon photonics (SiPh) pluggable transceivers in AI and cloud data centers. Built on the same indium phosphide (InP) platform as our EML products, these lasers combine narrow linewidth, low relative intensity noise (RIN), and scalable output power to ensure optimal modulator performance and signal integrity.
Devices such as the A6 (1311 nm) and A8 (CWDM4) series lasers deliver uncooled operation over 5–75 °C, GR-468-qualified reliability, and optional integrated SOAs for higher output. Using a shared DFB core design, these CW lasers bring EML-class reliability and fast time to production to SiPh-based transceiver architectures. Designed for DR4, DR8, and FR4 applications up to 1.6 Tbps, Lumentum CW lasers enable efficient, high-density optical links for next-generation silicon-based transceiver architectures.
