Lumentum’s 100G electro-absorption modulated laser (EML) integrates a wavelength-locked DFB laser with a monolithically integrated electro-absorption modulator (EAM), delivering low chirp, high signal fidelity, and excellent optical performance. Designed for CWDM4 operation at 1271, 1291, 1311, or 1331 nm, it supports 50GBd PAM4 signaling for 100G-per-lane transmission in DR and FR links up to 2 km. The HL13B5CP00-Ln series is deployed in high-volume 400G DR4 and FR4 modules and provides a proven path toward 800G DR8 and f2xFR4 scalability. Engineered for uncooled or lightly cooled operation, it delivers high extinction ratio (ER), and consistent performance under real-world data center conditions. Built on Lumentum’s high-volume InP platform, the 100G EML is GR-468 qualified, ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and consistent supply at hyperscale volumes.
